The difference between regions comes from Tallerator's average quotes (Autofácil, 2014), smoothed because the sample is old and small: take it as a rough guide. There's no data for Ceuta, La Rioja, and Melilla, so the Spain average is used (400 €).

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to replace the tyres?+

The usual is about 400 € with VAT for all four fitted on a family hatchback of about 110 hp: from 300 € with a budget brand to 600 € with a premium one. On a supermini, about 375 €; on a compact SUV, about 440 €. These are estimated prices from our garage guide.

How often are tyres replaced?+

When the tread drops below 1,6 mm, the legal minimum; the RACE advises not going below 3 mm. In our guide they last about 40.000 km; about 32.000 km on cars with 200 hp or more and on electric cars, and about 25.000 km on those with 300 hp or more.

Why do they cost more on a powerful car?+

Because they take a bigger size: a 75 hp supermini runs on 15-inch wheels and a 400 hp SUV on 21-inch high-performance ones. On a family hatchback, a set goes from about 340 € under 90 hp to about 780 € at 400 hp or more.

What does the tyre price include?+

The four tyres with fitting: removal, valve, balancing and recycling, about 15 € per wheel.
