It pays less because it doesn't take the emissions test.

Periodic inspection of a car, including taxes and the DGT fee. For a petrol car, it's only cheaper in the Balearic Islands. The average is 45,22 €.

There's a 10 % discount if you book or pass it on time, and a 12 % surcharge if you're more than a month late (on the rate before VAT and fees; not at mobile units). You can pay online, by card at the station or in cash at Unicaja.

What happens if the result is unfavourable or negative

Unfavourable

You have two months to fix what they flag and go back. Until then, the car can only go to the garage and the station; if you use it for anything else, the fine is 200 €.

Negative

The car can't be driven: it has to go to the garage on a tow truck. If you drive it, the fine is 500 €.
